About Us

Oak Hills Prebyterian Church

Oak Hills Presbyterian is a church that is rooted in tradition and rising in faith. OHPC began meeting at a local YMCA in 1957, and broke ground on its current site in 1959. Since then, the South Texas Medical Center and the Oak Hills neighborhood have blossomed around us. OHPC continues to grow to meet the changing needs of our community. We can't wait to meet you. Whether you're completely new to church or just haven't been for a while, we'd love to see you. At Oak Hills Presbyterian Church you can expect a friendly welcome, a service rooted in tradition, relevant teaching and an inviting church family.

We're glad you're here

We Are A Family

We believe everyone can find their place at Oak Hills Presbyterian Church. Oak Hills Presbyterian Church has a rich history spanning over 50 years of helping people just like you come to know Jesus. In a big church you can get lost in the crowd, but OHPC is small enough to create a warm and inviting church family.

Growing In Faith

At Oak Hills Presbyterian Church, we believe that God's Word has the ability to change lives. Whatever your journey so far, you can choose the next chapter. As a church we apply the truth of the Bible to our everyday lives and share life together as a community.

We Want To Meet You

Whether you're completely new to church or just haven't been for awhile, we'd love to see you. Join us on Sundays. At Oak Hills Presbyterian Church you can expect a friendly welcome, an uplifting service, and relevant teaching. We're glad you're here.

What We Believe

Through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, we trust in the one triune God, the Holy One of Israel, whom alone we worship and serve

God comes to us in free and undeserved favor in the person of Jesus Christ who lived, died, and rose for us that we might belong to God and serve Christ in the world. Following Jesus, Presbyterians are engaged in the world and in seeking thoughtful solutions to the challenges of our time

Presbyterians affirm that God comes to us with grace and love in the person of Jesus Christ, who lived, died, and rose for us so that we might have eternal and abundant life in him

As Christ’s disciples, called to ministry in his name, we seek to continue his mission of teaching the truth, feeding the hungry, healing the broken, and welcoming strangers. God sends the Holy Spirit to dwell within us, giving us the energy, intelligence, imagination, and love to be Christ’s faithful disciples in the world

To be fully alive as a multicultural, intergenerational congregation by sharing Christ's love, welcoming ALL people, and engaging in service.
